This Overall Privacy Statement discloses the privacy practices for the Bully Beware Zone website, apps, and services. Bully Beware collects information from users at several different points. For example, we collect and/or request information when a user:

  • Downloads and registers the Bully Beware Mobile App
  • Submits a Bullying Incident Report
  • Submits a report that a friend may be considering harming themselves or others
  • Uses the Contact Us option on our website
  • Engages our customer support operation

This information is necessary for the mobile app and/or website to function as intended and so that we can provide you with service that meets or exceeds your expectations.



By using the Bully Beware website or mobile app, the user agrees to the terms and conditions set forth in this Internet Privacy Statement and the Site Terms of Use INCLUDING ALL LIMITATIONS OF DAMAGES PROVISIONS which are an integral part hereof and the user consents to the collection and use of the information described herein. We may revise this Internet Privacy Statement or the Site Terms of Use at any time by updating this policy on our website. By using this Site you agree to be bound by any such revisions in effect at the time of use and should therefore periodically visit this page and the Site Terms of Use page to determine the then current policies applicable to users.

The Bully Beware sites may contain links to other Web sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.  When you click on links that take you away from pages within the www.bullybewarezone.com domain, you will be subject to their privacy policies, and we encourage you to become familiar with that party's privacy policies as these may differ from those defined here.  Please note that this privacy statement applies solely to information collected by Bully Beware on our Sites and within our mobile app.  While we strongly support the protection of privacy on the Internet, we cannot be responsible for the privacy practices of other Websites, uses of the information collected by other Websites, or the content of those other Websites.



Bully Beware may from time to time have third party companies assist us in delivering banner ads and other online communications. These companies may collect and use information about customers to help us better understand the offers, promotions, and types of advertising that are most appealing to our customers.  



During the registration process we collect some detailed PERSONAL information, some of which you might consider confidential, so we are disclosing how we utilize the information collected.  In most cases, we aggregate the information collected and generate demographic, socio-economic and statistical reports that are distributed on line and in printed form.  The information contained in these Aggregation Reports will never disclose your identity.  For example, an Aggregation Report might show the total number of bullying incidents for a school, town, city, or state, but it will never disclose any personally identifiable information about who was bullied or who the alleged bully was.  We never see your actual incident report information, it is delivered directly to the school linked to your profile.  Only you and your school have access to incident reports.

First & Last Name are collected so that we can reliably report your identity with self-harm incident reports and any reports that you chose NOT to be sent anonymously.  

Student’s Age is collected in order to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, (15 U.S.C. 6501, et seq.,), we are required to determine the students age because if they are under 13, parental consent is necessary for us to collect and store the students personal information.

Email Address is collected and used as your Username for logging into the system.  Occasionally, we will send emails to this address regarding product announcements and updates. 

Password is collected to secure access to the mobile app.  Your password should not be shared with anyone and is encrypted on our side, so we don’t know your password either.  Should you forget your password you can use the “Forgot Password” utility to reset your password at any time.   

State & City are collected solely for purposes of aggregating data across multiple users of the Bully Beware app.

School Id is a unique identifier assigned by our system to every school who registers to participate in the Bully Beware Zone program.  It creates a link between the student app and their school so we can securely and confidentially deliver incident reports directly to the schools Bulling Incident Management System.

Principal Name is collected when registering your app only if your school has not yet registered with Bully Beware Zone.   We collect the name of the principal so we can make them aware there are students at their school who would like to officially report incidents of bullying.   



We intend to protect the quality and integrity of your personally identifiable information. We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures, such as using firewalls, passwords, and encryption, to help us keep your information secure, accurate, current, and complete.

We are not responsible for updating, changing, adding, deleting, or in any way modifying your content. It is your responsibility to keep your profile information fresh, accurate, current, and complete using the user name and password that you were provided upon completion of the registration process.   

Bully Beware Zone reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to amend, edit, remove or otherwise block any material posted which may violate any state, federal or local law or violates any aspect of an Agreement between your organization and ours, or which we, in our sole discretion, deem unlawful, obscene, derogatory, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or otherwise disagreeable. However, we do not assume responsibility for reviewing or verifying the material, content and/or information collected from users.



A cookie is a small piece of information that is sent to your browser-- along with a Web page-- when you access a Web site. There are two kinds of cookies. A session cookie is a line of text that is stored temporarily and destroyed as soon as you close your browser. A persistent cookie is a more permanent line of text that gets saved by your browser.  Depending on your browser settings, you may receive notification that a given site is requesting cookie information, possibly with an expiration date.  Persistent cookies have an expiration date in the future.  Session cookies have no date associated with them.

We sometimes collect information from visits to our sites to help us provide better customer service. For example, we keep track of the domains from which people visit and we also measure visitor activity. This information is sometimes known as “clickstream data”. We may use this data to analyze trends and statistics in an effort to help us provide better customer service.

Some pages also use Web beacon technologies. When a visitor accesses these pages, a notice of that visit is generated which may be processed by us or by our vendors. These Web beacons work in conjunction with cookies. If you don’t want to associate your cookie information with your visits to these pages, you can set your browser to turn off cookies.



Bully Beware Zone will comply with any and all court ordered disclosures and disclosures demanded in writting by a government authority for official purposes.



As a user of our mobile app and/or website(s), you hereby grant Bully Beware a royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, transmit, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, and/or display the means, images, photographs, illustrations, graphics, audio clips, video clips, text, and/or clickstream data that is generated, stored, submitted, posted, or transmitted through, or using, Bully Beware technology, in whole or in part, in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed, consistent with this privacy statement.



You may post only Content that is not subject to any copyright or other proprietary rights protection (collectively, “Public Content”), or Content in which the author has given express authorization for distribution on the World Wide Web.  Any copyrighted or other proprietary Content Distributed with the consent of a copyright owner should contain a phrase such as “Copyright, owned by [name of owner]; used by permission.

The unauthorized submission or distribution of copyrighted or other proprietary Content is illegal and could subject you to criminal prosecution as well as personal liability for damages in civil suit. You, not Bully Beware, nor its affiliates, nor any of its officers, directors, employees, agents, Merchants, Providers, Sponsors, Licensors, or the like, will be liable for any damage resulting for any infringement of such submission.

By submitting Content, you automatically grant, or warrant that the owner of such Content has expressly granted Bully Beware a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, publish, translate, sublicense, copy, and distribute the Content in whole or in part worldwide and /or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media or technology now know or hereafter developed for the full term of any copyright that may exist in such Content. You also permit any other user to access, store, or reproduce the Content for that user. Subject to this grant, the owner of Content placed on the Web site retains any and all rights, which may exist in such Content.
